Updates on an Ongoing Emergency?
Many areas in and near the TCFPD are quite rural. Urban media sources may or may not have much information about us. If you are seeking information about an ongoing local emergency:
Ask your neighbors to see what they know and to check that they are all right.
Look for notices posted in the Coastal Hills Community Project (CHCP) Bulletin emails. (See our Resources page for instructions on how to subscribe to the bulletin — it's free.)
Look for texts from local authorities via Nixle or SoCoAlert
Listen for bulletins and news on local T.V. and radio stations.
Listen to the nearby national weather radio station.
Listen to the local emergency dispatch and tactical radio channels either directly, or rebroadcast over the internet (see our Resources page).
See the local guides available via our Resources page for more information on what to do before and in case of an emergency.
